Export Only Products

The Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 ("SERPA") controls the sale of vaping products ("regulated products") in New Zealand.

The regulations around vaping products include (but are not limited to):

• Bottle size restrictions
• Nicotine strength type restrictions
• What can be displayed on the label
• New Zealand-specific warning information
• Full ingredients listed on label
• Products been to be registered with the government before sale (including full ingredients list)
• Child-proof mechanism inclusion on vaping devices

Export Only products can not be sold to New Zealand customers, as they do not comply with SERPA - as the name suggests, they are for export sales only.

Remember, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with an export-only product - these products are almost always sold in other regulated markets (such as the USA and Europe).

More often than not, it's simply the New Zealand government packaging and compliance requirements stopping these products from being fully compliant -  manufacturers of these products are sometimes unable or unwilling to do custom packaging runs for our (relatively) small market.

The team here at Vapoureyes will continue to work with international e-liquid manufacturers to bring their packaging inline with NZ regulations, and over time more and more products will be available for sale within New Zealand.
